300 Main St.
 Nevada City, CA

In 1850 Mr. Stamps and Mr. Lamden built a small building on this lot. It was used by many different churches. It had a dirt floors, and boxes and whiskey barrels for seats. This building burnt down a year later. It was rebuilt of brick and dedicated as a Congregational Church. It was used as a church until 1914. Then it was used as apartments and a mortuary. In 1954 the First Baptist Church bought it and restored the building.
